I was anxious to meet the Elder known as the Water Walker at the Sacred Water Circle in Peterborough, Ont. And Grandmother Josephine Mandamin did not disappoint. She is gentle and passionate, soft-spoken and strong.

Mother Earth Water Walk 2011 Documentary
On May 24, 2012 Jeff Bear from urbanrez productions (urbanrez.ca) will be flying to Sault Ste Marie from B.C. He will be screening the documentary that he made about last years historical water walk. The screening will be at Algoma University in the Great West Life Amphitheatre. Doors open at 7pm, and things will get underway at 7:30pm
Three Women Carry Water From Gulf To Great Lakes
Three Native American women are walking across Mississippi on their way to Lake Superior. MPB’s Jeffrey Hess reports that they are carrying a bucket of water from the Gulf of Mexico to Wisconsin to raise awareness about clean water.
