Meet Josephine Mandamin, Water Walker by Carolyn Pogue THE POGUE BLOG www.carolynpogue.ca
I was anxious to meet the Elder known as the Water Walker at the Sacred Water Circle in Peterborough, Ont. And Grandmother Josephine Mandamin did not disappoint. She is gentle and passionate, soft-spoken and strong.
Grandmother Josephine has walked more than 17,000 km around all five Great Lakes and beyond. As she continues her healing work, she invites all nations — wherever you are in the world, alone or with others — to join her each year on a fast for Mother Earth. Take the time. Listen. Pray. Be.
On May 24, 2012 Jeff Bear from urbanrez productions (urbanrez.ca) will be flying to Sault Ste Marie from B.C. He will be screening the documentary that he made about last years historical water walk. The screening will be at Algoma University in the Great West Life Amphitheatre. Doors open at 7pm, and things will get underway at 7:30pm
